Producer Information

Bodegas Vicente Gandia is a major wine producer based in the Valencia region of southeast Spain. It produces a large number of brands and wines from Valenia and Utiel-Requena but also makes wines from numerous Spanish wine regions, covering a wide range of national and "international" grape varieties. The winery was established by Vicente Gandia himselt in 1885 with a view to selling and exporting wine in bulk from the local region. By 1971 it was the first winery in the region to market bottled wine (under the Castillo de Liria brand, still produced by the company). As well as being headquartered just west of Valencia town, in 1990 Vicente Gandia established the Hoya de Cadenas estate and winery, just north of Utiel. The Hoya de Cadenas wine label has also become a major export brand for the company. In 2021, the company also purchased the 61-hectare (150-acre) Casa Gallur estate in Caudete, at the very southeastern end of the Castilla La Mancha region, close to the border with Murcia and southern Valencia. A large number of brands produced from across Spain. These include: the Sandara range of fruit-flavored sparkling wines; the local Marques del Turia and Finca del Mar; the Ceramic Monastrell (aged in large ceramic jars, or tiñajas); and Ceremonia (which includes a white Monastrell from Alicante and a Bobal Riserva from local fruit). El Miracle includes several Cavas, and red, white and rosé wines from local fruit including Tempranillo and Shiraz (the latter are blended in the El Miracle 120 Anniversario); and Hoya de Cadenas which includes a Reserva Privada and a Reserva Tempranillo as well as a number of varietally labeled wines including Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz as well as a range of Cavas. Non-Valencia labels include the Nebla range which covers a Verdejo from Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León and a Ribera del Duero Tempranillo; the Raiza Rioja range; and Con un Par (which includes an Albariño from Rías Baixas). A dealcoholized red and white are also made under the Cero Coma title.
