Clynelish 1997 TWCC is a 18 year old Single Malt whisky from Scotland. Bottled in 2015 at 51.6% this bottle will make a fine addition to any Scotland Single Malt whisky lover. Please note that this The Whisky Cask Company (TWCC) is 2nd Fill Sherry Cask. It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered, cask strength, single cask whisky edition of Clynelish. This is one of only 141 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.

Clynelish 1997 TWCC 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: The first impression reveals a fruity sherry nose: pears and light grapes. These aromas disappear relatively quickly and are replaced by aromas of sawdust, wax and furniture polish. Later comes flaxseed oil.

Palate: The taste also begins with a slight sherry impact. After that take over honey, some oak (bitterness), a slight pungency and citrus fruits.

Finish: In the finish, the sharpness is stronger and the citrus notes dominate.

Distillery Information

Clynelish Distillery is a distillery near Brora, Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland.
The original distillery was built in 1819 , adjacent to the new Clynelish. The original Clynelish closed in the year 1967 as the new Clynelish distillery had been built. The old distillery was renamed Brora Distillery and production of a peated spirit continued until 1983.
