From the Darkness independent bottling range comes a 20 year old single malt distilled by the brilliant Deanston! This expression was given a finish in a specially-coopered Palo Cortado sherry octave cask (much smaller than your regular ol' hogshead), helping to develop its flavour profile and impart some intriguingly delicious elements.
Deanston 20 Year Old Palo Cortado Cask (Darkness) Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Tangy citrus, with a hint of salted caramel and buttered crumpets.
Palate: Sultana, candied ginger, a hint of earthy oak, espresso, another zesty splash of orange.
Finish: Lingering dry spices - think cassia and black pepper.
