It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered, cask strength, single cask whisky edition of Glendronach. This is one of only 694 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.

Glendronach 1994 Bottled in 2016 Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon 21 Year Old Tasting Notes

Nose: Delicate oloroso, not overly oaked and enough distillery character shining through. Getting apples and a dry orange without the peel. Hints of leather and a little varnish. Nose gaining some cherry sweets, the haribo jelly kind.

Palate: Strong to the taste, showing lack of age here, cask is hiding behind a blast of alcohol. Getting oranges lacking in juice. A sourness creeping in and some sulphur.

Finish: Medium, slightly drying. Light oak and some lurking sulphur.

Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice. Nestled in the Valley of Forgue, deep in the East Highland Hills, is The GlenDronach Distillery, one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. We have been dedicated to creating the finest, richly-sherried Single Malts for almost 200 years. Over the nearly 200 years of their history, this traditional distillery has been bought, sold, and traded a lot of times. But in 2008 they were finally rescued by the BenRiach Distillery Company.
