This is the first 5-year-old release from Kilchoman, the first new distillery on Islay for over 100 years. Distilled in 2006 and matured in a combination of fresh and refill bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace Distillery, Kentucky, this expression was limited to 11,300 bottles.

Nose: Peaty with soft fruits and Christmas cake.
Palate: Mouth-filling and sweet with cloves, butterscotch and soft citrus.
Finish: Peaty, fresh and clean.
Distillery Information
The Kilchoman distillery (pronounced Kil-ho-man) is a distillery that produces single malt Scotch whisky on Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides.The distillery is situated on the western side of Islay, near the small settlement of Kilchoman. The location made it the most westerly distillery in Scotland, until the Abhainn Dearg Distillery started distilling on the Isle of Lewis.
