Miltonduff 8 Year Old 2009 - Strictly Limited (Càrn Mòr) Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

This single cask Scotch single malt whisky was bottled in 2018 for the Strictly Limited range from Càrn Mòr after it spent 8 years in an ex-bourbon barrel. It was distilled at the fabulous Miltonduff Distillery in 2009 and was bottled with no added colouring or chill filtration, with an outturn of just 321 bottles.

Nose: Toasty oak, honey-glazed orchard fruit and sweet cereals lead among prickles of spicy clove.

Palate: An oily palate begins with golden syrup, milk chocolate and vanilla before nutty elements and more baking spice emerge.

Finish: Drying and subtly fruity.

Distillery Information

The Miltonduff distillery lies in the Glen of Pluscarden, whose barley rich pastures once played host to as many as fifty illicit stills during the 1800s. The site was once the meal mill of Pluscarden Abbey. The Benedictine Priory of Pluscarden was founded in 1236 and had been closed for some time, until 1948 when it was reopened. The Miltonduff whisky distillery was founded by Robert Bain and Andrew Peary in 1824, shortly after the Excise Act was passed.
