      Detailed Description

Expressive and very richly fruited with limestone, citrus, white fruit and hints of peach and pear aromas that lead to full-bodied, sweet and superbly complex flavors that are built on a base of solid minerality and outstanding dry extract levels. There is a natural sweetness to the flavors that is completely buffered by the prominent acid spine. This is really impressive juice with plenty of potential.

        Reviews:

        • Burghound: Deep, minerally nose dominated by wet stone. Dense, sappy and highly concentrated, with sweet but subtle fruit notes and great lift in the mouth. Not a particularly voluminous wine and yet this manages to stain the palate with flavors of peach, flowers, butter and stone. Finishes with superb density, length and finesse. An outstanding 2002. I tasted this wine next to the Chevalier-Montrachet made by Etienne de Montille at the Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet. It shows less sheer fat but more obvious wet stone minerality and class.
