      Detailed Description

It is a dry and tangy white wine from the Jura, with incredible freshness. This bottle is the ideal accompaniment for all your white meats and mushrooms.

              Producer Information

Domaine des Miroirs is a sought-after producer in the southern part of the Jura region of France, run by Japenese ex-pat Kenjiro Kagami. The wines are prized for delicacy and purity, often showing contradictory hints of oxidative nuttiness and reductive smokiness at the same time. There are two regular Chardonnay releases, and two further occasional ones, plus a single Savagnin wine. A Poulsard named Ja-Nai is the main red wine, while a Trousseau named Que Sera Sera appears more rarely. A blend of the two grapes (Ja Do) was made in the 2015 vintage only. Wines are labelled as Vin de France. There are four hectres (10 acres) of vineyards. Yields are kept very low at around 2500 liters per hectare. This might result in around 10,000 bottles in a typical vintage. In the cellar, red wine ferments are allowed to happen in barrel in their own time, and may take 45 days. Little or nothing is done to aid extraction. White grapes are pressed slowly over the course of a day. There is no skin contact; the wine settles for two days then stays in old oak until after a second winter. Kagami does not overtly try to achieve flor in his white wine barrels, but as they are only topped up five or six times over the two years, some can occur.
