This single malt was distilled at Glen Moray in 2007 and filled into a first fill bourbon barrel to mature. 15 years later, the barrel was opened by independent bottler A.D Rattray, releasing a total of 191 cask strength bottles for its Cask Collection.

Nose: Toasty vanilla pod, dried orange peels, gooseberries, and honeyed brioche.

Palate: Toasted oak, toffee, gingerbread, and lemon drop sweeties, with herbal tea and rich oak beneath.

Finish: A wave of woody spice and garden herbs arrives, while tropical fruits and zesty citrus linger.

Distillery Information

Glen Moray started life as West Brewery in Elgin run by Robert Thorne & Sons, and was converted to a distillery with 2 stills in 1897. Following a fire and extensive rebuilding program at their Aberlour Distillery, the company focused on production of Aberlour whisky, allowing the Glen Moray distillery to run down.
