O.P. Anderson Klar Organic Aquavit | 700ML

O.P. Anderson has been making aquavit since 1891! Mamma mia! This super (trouper) expression from the quintessentially Swedish brand uses entirely organic ingredients. Standing out in their range of aquavits, Klar champions the flavours of dill alongside classic caraway and anise. It's rested in oak barrels for six months, resulting in a fantastically smooth spirit. Kept in the freezer, it makes a fabulous food pairing for all manner of seafood, or try it in a Bloody Mary. Distillery Information

Sweden is probably as famous as Scotland is for its finest single whisky as it is for the production of high-quality Aquavit. This of course has its reasons. The Swedish climate offers the perfect conditions for producing the best Aquavit. The extremely long and cold nights in the winter months, as well as the particularly long and warm days with refreshing winds during the summer months provide the ideal conditions. One of the most appreciated products is called O.P. Anderson Aquavit, and is probably one of the oldest Aquavits of the country. The Swedes love it for its golden glow color, packed in a traditional clear bottle with a bulbous neck, yellow old style label, with a red twist off cap, and of course for its very unique taste. Like any Aquavit, the O.P. Anderson also has cumin as a basic ingredient, which is perfectly tuned proportionately to the refreshing anise and the gentle fennel. The old world classic is 100% grain based and was introduced to the consumer in 1891 by Olaf Peter Anderson. Initially the spirit was named Gammal Fin 1 Aquavit but was later changed to its current name. Eight months storage in oak barrels ensure that this Aquavit is the top seller in Scandinavia and has also found its way into the hearts of the American consumer. These ingredients can already be perceived the nose when one opens a bottle of this delicious Swedish Aquavit. A fresh fragrance blows and delights the senses. On arriving in the mouth the O.P. Anderson presents itself very softly. The aroma of subtle cumin settles on the palate and leaves room for the development of the taste of the fennel. The warming, sweet, liquorice-like flavor of anise ensures that there is some pep. O.P. Anderson was awarded a Silver medal in 1998 at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
