On the nose cherries, prunes and chocolate. On the palate rich, balanced with good structure and full flavour enriched by pleasant velvety tannins.

      Producer Information

Gemma was founded in 1978 when Silvano Piacentini decided to found a new production facility in the Barolo production area, in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, inside an old winery formerly owned by the Opera Pia Barolo of the Falletti Marquises located in the historic center of the village close to the historic medieval castle (the premises are now completely renovated and equipped with modern winemaking equipment and a new barrels park). _17In 2012, the company has a new and modern structure, built with innovative construction techniques where the entire production process is carried out, from winemaking to bottling and shipping, this facility is just a few kilometers away from the headquarters historical in via Alba 11 / C. The Gemma company has a direct ownership of vineyards equal to about 25 hectares, distributed between several municipalities of the Langhe including Serralunga d'Alba and Monforte d'Alba, of which 65% represented by Nebbiolo da Barolo plants. In Serralunga d'Alba, the company leads vineyards in Cerrati and Collareto, while in Cru Giubellini is cultivated in Monforte d'Alba (hence the homonymous Barolo Giblin). Even the son of Silvano, Luigi, after various experiences in major Italian wineries, participates in the company's business dealing with the commercial and marketing side.
