Dense ruby. More delicately scented and significantly more floral than Nuits-St-Georges, a noble perfume. The Chambolle is also softer on the palate, accessible and has ripe, red fruit, the tannins are dosed just right, the acidity is right, it has tension and freshness, and has a pleasantly long finish.

Producer Information
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is a Burgundy wine estate producing red wines made from Pinot Noir, which are known for their aromatic intensity and minerality. The domaine makes a wide range of wines spanning from the village-level AOC through to grand cru. Village-level wines are made from five communes: Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côtes de Nuits, and Pommard in the Côtes de Beaune. Confuron-Cotetidot also produce an array of wines from premier and grand cru sites, including Les Suchots in Vosne-Romaneé, Échezeaux, and tiny plots of Charmes- and Mazis-Chambertin. The domaine's holdings are consistently located in the better locations within the given appellations. The Confuron family has a long history at the forefront of Burgundian viticulture, and has a clone of Pinot Noir named after it. The vineyards have never been treated with synthetic herbicides or pesticides, and yields are tightly controlled through pruning and green harvesting. The domaine name stems from Jack Confuron (son of Joseph Confuron, born in 1907) and partner Bernadette Cotetidot. Brothers Jean-Yves and Jean-Pierre Confuron run the estate. Barrel-aging can take place for up to two years, and the village wines tend to see 10 to 20 percent new oak, the premier crus a little more, and a maximum of 50 percent for grands crus. Wines are bottled unfined and filtered.
