Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: Tasted from bottle, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village unwinds in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, fresh pastry, white flowers and green apple, complemented by a hint of youthful struck match. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy but reserved, it's bright and chalky, with an ample core underpinned by a tangy spine of acidity.
- James Suckling: Pale lemon and lime, with rather an elegant, classy nose, white fruit behind, excellent texture and good acid balance. The village Chassagne offers a firm finish but with a flourish. Gracious fruit, which is not exaggerated.
Producer Information
Lamy-Caillat is a Burgundy wine producer located in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. It produces a small collection of Chardonnay wines from four climats, a majority of which are Premier Cru. Lamy-Caillat was established in 2011 by Sébastien Caillat and Florence Lamy who both grew up in Burgundy. They also manage Domaine René Lamy-Pillot, Forence's family estate. Les Champs Gian, Les Caillerets and La Romanée are the premier cru climat with a village wine from the Pot Bois climat (of which many consider to be of premier cru quality). The entire portfolio is designed to be age-worthy with long elevage periods. The wines are bottled directly from barrel with no filtration. Production totals approximately 7150 bottles each year.
