      Detailed Description

Deep purple colour and flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry with the Cabernet Sauvignon contributing a freshness to the blend. This wine has structured tannins, a full body and a long, silky finish.

      Producer Information

Fratelli Wines is a producer in Akluj the Maharashtra region of India. Wines are based on familiar French grape varieties plus Sangiovese. The business is a joint venture between six brothers from three families. These are the Seccis from Italy, the Sekhris from Delhi, and the locally-based Mohite-Patil brothers. Production is overseen by the Tuscan winemaker Piero Masi. Wines are made from estate fruit. Vineyard soils are infertile (a positive for winemaking) with a high mineral content. Sette (VII) is the signature bottling, named for the six brothers plus Masi. It is a Tuscan-style blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, promoted as India's first icon wine. It spends 14 months in French oak. The MS range was created by Masi with renowned British wine expert Steven Spurrier. It includes a rosé made from Sangiovese, and an 80:20 blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The red combines 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and Shiraz. There are also several collaborations with French titan Jean-Claude Boisset. The J'Noon label features a further white blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The red wine partners Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, Marselan and a little Sangiovese. JCB 47 is a sparkling Chardonnay with a base wine fermented in French oak. There are two other sparkling wines. Noí is intended for informal occasions, while the Gran Cuvée is a zero dosage wine made entirely from Chenin Blanc. A varietal range – including an unusual white wine made from Sangiovese – completes the portfolio.
