Inky garnet in the glass, this wine has a bouquet of black currant, brambleberries and forest floor. It is savory on the palate, with grippy tannins and flavors of olive paste, Mediterranean herbs, anisette and black cherry.

Producer Information

Recanati Winery is an Israeli wine producer located in the Upper Galilee region. It was established in 2000 by Lenny Recanati and Uri Shaked, and today produces a wide range of red and white wines from classic Mediterranean varieties like Petite Sirah, Marselan and Carignan, as well as ubiquitous international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. A majority of the estate's fruit is sourced from vineyards in the Manara and Kerem Ben-Zimra regions of the Upper Galilee, with additional fruit grown in the warmer climates of Ella Valley and the Lower Galilee. Recanati produces a wide range of wines under several labels with the Special Reserve range the flagship of the portfolio. The Special Reserve White, first produced in 2012, is a Marsanne – Roussanne blend aged sur lie for eight months in French oak barrels. The red, a Bordeaux blend, is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Recanati was instrumental in restoring Israel's native white grape, Maravi with an inaugural vintage from the variety released in 2014. Beituni another ancient local grape variety has since been added to the range, a red variety with organoleptic properties of violets and Mediterranean herbs.
