      Textured, layered and complete, it marries grip with perfume and freshness. Dense and complex, with plum, bramble and blood orange fruit and enticing, palate-cleansing minerality.

      • Wine Advocate: The pure Cinsault 2021 Miles was dedicated to Miles Davis and produced with grapes from an old vineyard in the zone of Guarilihue in Itata. In Parra's opinion, it's the most complete and balanced of the ones he vinifies, a vineyard on very decomposed granite soils that are very rocky with a little iron and sandy clay texture. It fermented in concrete with 100% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in an oak vat for 11 months. It has 13% alcohol and feels a little closed and austere, subtle but with a wider palate with fine-grained minerality, harmonious and with symmetry, with chalky tannins.
      • James Suckling: A beautiful, tangy cinsault full of life. I love the white sesame reduction here with pomegranate, grapefruit and white pepper. Juicy and delicious, with a medium body and firm, chalky tannins. Long and polished. Fleshier if you compare with the more austere Newk.

          Pedro Parra Family Wines (known as Pedro Parra or Pedro Parra y Familia) is a wine producer based in the Itata subregion of the Bío Bío Valley, Chile. Pedro Parra produces a range of wines under both the Itata and Bio Bio designations, predominantly from old vine Cinsault and Pais (Mission). Parra established his eponymous company after 15 years as a winemaker and winemaking consultant working in France, Argentina, USA, Italy, Canada and Armenia. Parra has a PhD in Terroir from the Paris Center of Agriculture. Parra eventually returned to Chile and settled in 2013 to begin wine production in his home region of Bío Bío under his own name. He produces a range of labels, predominantly from the Itata Valley subregion. The wines are predominantly blends or single-varietal examples of the local mainstays Cinsault and Pais although Muscat and Semillon can also, occaisonally, figure in the blends. Parra is also involved in the Aristos joint venture in the Cachapoal Valley with fellow Chilean winemaker Francois Massoc and Burgundy producer Louis-Michel Liger-Belair of the eponymous domaine in Vosne-Romanée.
