Trinidad’s Caroni made robust, full-flavoured rums up until the year 2000 before finally closing in 2002. This 1.5-litre version, bottled at 60% abv.

Nose: Delicate and impressive depth on the nose.

Palate: Intense notes of herbs, olives, woody spice.

Finish: Finishing up with prickles of peppery warmth.

Distillery Information

The Caroni distillery was founded in 1918 and built on the site of an old sugar factory. It was located on the Caroni Plains near Port of Spain, Trinidad. The distillery was Government owned and operated with its own sugar processing plant. Early success was achieved with rum produced through a cast iron still.
