El Rey tequilas were created as a brand by Mexcor International and meant to celebrate its 65th anniversary. The title "El Rey" is meant to signify "a person who is the head of the family that is responsible, creates, provides, takes care of others, shares, and keeps his word with honor." El Rey reposado is briefly aged (or "rested") in oak for between 4 and 6 months to give the tequila a slight color and mellow character.

Nose: Sweet almond, brown sugar.
Palate: Refined, silky vanilla, smooth earthy finish.
Finish: Finish is warm and spicy.
