Detailed Description

Built in 1810, Jura Distillery has not been successful for more than 150 years. In 1901, the distilling equipment was removed from it, and only 60 years later it was rebuilt and re-equipped to resume distillation. Since 1993, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay and produces 2.4 million liters of distillate per year. In 2020, Jura single malt took 7.5% of the UK market, ahead of Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie. The Jura presented here, released in February 2008, spent 15 years in a refilled hogshead type barrel no. DL 17222.
