Linkwood 1954 56 Year Old Gordon & Macphail Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

Distilled on 4th February 1954, first fill sherry butt number 371 was laid down in the warehouses at Linkwood distillery. It was moved to Gordon & Macphail's bonded warehouse in Elgin in 1968 and bottled on 24th November 2010 at the grand old age of 56.

Nose: A delightfully complex spicy and perfumed nose.

Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.

Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.

Distillery Information

The Linkwood Distillery is a whisky distillery in Elgin, in the Speyside region of Scotland. It is owned by the British drinks giant Diageo. The distillery was built in 1821 by Peter Brown with two stills, and started production in 1825 with a capacity of 4,500 litres per year.
