Monte Alban is named for a mountaintop settlement in Jalisco, Mexico known for its agave plants, both cultivated and wild. Sazerac is noted as the importer for Monte Alban but they currently acknowledge it as a mezcal label rather than tequila (as of September, 2011).

Nose: Tropical nose with notes of coconuts and pineapples.
Palate: Slightly dry, medium body carries a layered palate of honey, sweet potato and cream.
Finish: Finishing with a mild spice.
