This is Smokehead with the gloves off. Unlike the original bottling of Islay single malt Scotch whisky, this one isn't filtered (hence the name) and ups the ABV to 46%.
Smokehead Unfiltered | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Through rich smoke there's hints of vanilla and stem ginger.
Palate: Oily walnuts, dark chocolate, and black pepper percolate through dense smoke.
Finish: Dry, with medicinal herbs.
Distillery Information
Developed by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2006, the Smokehead is an intensely peaty range of single malts from undisclosed distilleries. Since its first release in 2006, there have now been many extensions of the brand, including the 2012 Smokehead Rock Edition as a limited release designed to ‘celebrate its credentials as the rock ‘n’ roll spirit of choice’. In 2009 the brand began a long association with the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, as well as the Marshall Ultimate Band Contest.
