        • Allen Meadows: Pure red and black fruit aromas that remain almost completely primary in character are followed by dark, deep, very tight, medium weight flavors that display good density and still firm tannins on the long finish.

              Producer Information

Domaine Michel Lafarge is a producer of Burgundy wines located in Volnay, on the Côte de Beaune. The domaine was established in the 18th Century by Michel Lafarge's great-great-grandparents and remains family-owned. In 1995, Michel Lafarge was among the first in Burgundy to experiment with biodynamic viticulture and is known for his minimal intervention techniques in the vineyard and winery. Today Michel Lafarge's son, Frédéric produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from 10 hectares (25 acres) of vineyard-owned land in Volnay. Domaine Michel Lafarge is best recognized for its Pinot Noir from Clos des Chênes, a notable Premier Cru vineyard in the village of Volnay. For all wines, around five percent new oak is used in the maturation process and wines are only lightly fined and rarely filtered before bottling. Michel Lafarge passed away in 2020. The estate is no co-managed by Frédéric Lafarge with his wife, Chantal.
