2018 | Domaine Bachelet-Monnot | Puligny-Montrachet

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot was established in 2005 by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, two brothers who currently farm approximately 20 hectares of prime vineyards on the Côte d`Or. This is their village-level Puligny-Montrachet from the hottest vintage in Burgundy since 2003. The wine is rich, with a lively attack, showing notes of citrus, flint and butter.

Reviews:

• Burghound: A more elegant and much more floral if a bit less complex nose displays aromas of pear, exotic tea, orange peel and an equally discreet dollop of wood. The rich and generously proportioned flavors possess excellent mid-palate density though not the same energy on the fleshy, sappy and nicely persistent finale. This too is lovely but it's not quite as complete as the Chassagne.

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot was established by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet in 2005 and is situated in Dezize-lès-Maranges, a commune of Maranges at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy.The wider estate covers around 20 hectares (50 acres) of estate-owned and contracted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in climats including grand cru vineyards in Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet. Additional holdings include premier cru plots in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Maranges itself (in particular, 50 percent of the Clos de la Boutière vineyard).
