Detailed Description
Featuring pronounced violet aromas and spice-riddled red berries on the nose, the full-bodied 2018 Saint-Joseph Vignes de l'Hospice is eerily reminiscent of the 2015. It's full-bodied, plush and velvety, yet it retains great detail and complexity, finishing long and elegant.

- Wine Advocate: Featuring pronounced violet aromas and spice-riddled red berries on the nose, the full-bodied 2018 Saint-Joseph Vignes de l'Hospice is eerily reminiscent of the 2015. It's full-bodied, plush and velvety, yet it retains great detail and complexity, finishing long and elegant.
- Wine Spectator: This is packed with dark fig, blackberry and black cherry compote flavors, all wrapped in apple wood and bacony toast before ending with a swath of warm earth on the finish. Rock-solid, with range and depth for the cellar.
Producer Information
E. Guigal is one of the most notable wine producers in the RhĂ´ne Valley. It was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis â where the headquarters remain to this day â on the western banks of the RhĂ´ne river, a stone's throw from the famous sun-roasted slopes of the CĂ´te RĂ´tie, and Guigal's flagship wines, the famous "LaLa"s: La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque.Guigal has a long history of winegrowing, and today the company hold plots throughout the nothern and southern RhĂ´ne and produces wines from classic northern RhĂ´ne and Mediterranean varieties including Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Roussanne, although the focus has always been on Syrah and the CĂ´te RĂ´tie. The company's sizeable holdings include the likes of Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Gigondas, Condrieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and wines are made from each, often labeled simply by their appellation title â a format that runs into the more affordable CĂ´tes du RhĂ´ne range (which can be found in red, white and rosĂŠ form).
