Producer Information
During the 60’s Glinavos envisioned the creation of the winery and in 1978 he decided to establish Domaine Glinavos in the Viticultural Area with Protected Designation of Origin, Zitsa, Ioannina. In 1990, Domaine Glinavos made a new start when the second generation enters in the family business. A modern distillery was established in 2004 and in 2009, Domaine Glinavos establishes a new major unit producing sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. During those 37 years their primary objective is the production of the highest quality possible wines and Greek-distilled spirit. They believe that each wine should ‘’tell a story’’. The story of variety, production, maturation and the story of the rains, the burning sun and the land it grows on. Debina produced with the “signature” of the unique grape variety of Zitsa. A semi sparkling white wine that has been given its name from the famous local white grape variety of Zitsa, Debina. The de-stemmed grapes are fermented in special tanks. The second fermentation occurs in closed tanks (cuvée close or Méthode Charmat) and they achieve Rich, natural foaming and intense fresh aromas. It has a pale-yellow color with thousands of natural bubbles.
