      Producer Information

Nestled in the heart of the Valais region, Thierry Constantin’s winery - established in 2001 - prides itself on the principles of quality and value. Since making his viticultural debut in 1995, he has quickly risen through the ranks on the Valais wine scene and for the last five years, his work has been rewarded with a listing as one of Gault & Millau’s ‘Best Winemakers in Switzerland’. With five and a half hectares under vine across some of the canton’s most prestigious terroir, Thierry Constantin favours integrated production and respect for the land. His vineyards occupy plots on the right bank of the Rhône between Vétroz and Sion, are mostly terraced and are tended with meticulous care and consideration. The consummate professional, Thierry Constantin is committed to his craft with a diligence and attention to detail that runs from the soil to the bottle. His philosophy - that perfection is only possible through patience, care and perseverance - serves to fuel his dedication to the vine. No stone is left unturned in his pursuit of viticultural excellence with specifically selected plots, deliberately limited yields and bespoke handling of each grape type to preserve unique varietal character. A range of red and white grapes are cultivated by this vigneron, including a number that are typical to the Valais region - most notably Cornalin, Humagne Rouge, Petite Arvine and Amigne. Other varieties grown here include whites - Heida, Sylvaner and Viognier, and red grapes - Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Most of the wines produced on the estate are complex mono-varietals with a mark of distinction. They can be purchased directly from the cellar in Pont-de-la-Morge and from a number of distributors in Switzerland and abroad. They are also served at some of the finest tables including the three Michelin-starred establishments - L’Hôtel de Ville in Crissier, Canton Vaud and Restaurant Pic in Valence, France, as well as in Heston Blumenthal’s ‘Dinner by Heston’ at The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, England. Undoubtedly a winemaker of great perspicacity, Thierry Constantin and his truly delectable wines are helping to establish Switzerland as a premier wine-making nation.
