A very old bottle of Gilbey's Spey Royal blended Scotch whisky which, we estimate, dates from the 1940s.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.

Palate: This is extremely smoky with exceptionally balanced in flavour.

Finish: Long and warming.

Distillery Information

Gilbey’s was founded in 1872 by brothers Walter and Alfred Gilbey, who began distilling in Camden Town, London after the Crimean War. As they grew and became more successful in the 1880s, they acquired whisky distilleries in Scotland, such as Glen Spey and Strathmill, as well as gin distilleries in Canada and Australia.
