Guadeloupe 1998 Single Cask Bellevue Distillery Vol Gleann Mor Rum | 700ML

A bottle of 1998 Bellevue Rum from Maria Galante, a small dependency island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. This was distilled in March 1998, matured in single cask number 4 and bottled in July 2019 by Gleann Mor Spirits for the Leith Stillroom series.

Nose: Ripe bananas with ginger sweetness, molasses and muscovado sugar, milk chocolate marzipan with nutmeg fading to sandalwood and fruit jam notes.

Palate: Pleasingly sweet bananas and roasted pineapples, fruit jam, dried figs and ginger.

Finish: Long lingering dry peppery finish.

Bellevue Distillery has been active since the late 19th century. It is located on Marie-Galante, known for its sugarcane heritage. Bellevue's distillery benefits from rich, volcanic soil and a tropical climate. This is ideal for growing high-quality sugarcane.
