The fourth release from the Herradura Coleccion de la Casa range is the Directo de Alambique expression. This tequila has been made with 100% blue agave and fermented using natural yeast, which is pretty darn uncommon in the tequila world. Following its distillation, this has been bottled at a generous 55% ABV, again rather uncommon in the tequila world! Fascinating stuff.
Herradura Directo de Alambique Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: Robust aroma of smoke and herby agave.
Palate: A rich and full-bodied spirit with notes of green pepper, citrus, herbs and spice.
Finish: There’s a long clean and fresh finish with a lot of vegetal character.
