On the palate, it is smooth and sweet, with notes of figs, dates and raisins, as well as hints of spice and tobacco. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of oak and a pleasant sweetness. This port is best enjoyed as an after-dinner drink, served chilled and accompanied by aged cheeses.
