Wormtub 10 Year Old Batch #5 Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Well-aged, well-sherried fruit cake with plenty of sweet spice is joined by zesty flamed orange peel, and earthy, herbaceous black tea.

Palate: Waves of red berries, oily walnuts, and marmalade support glorious robust, meaty malt, with hints of sweetly cured biltong and tangy dried cranberries.

Finish: Salted caramel lingers alongside candied fruit and dense, oily malt for a rich, long-lasting finish.

Distillery Information

Illicit distillers in Scotland always sought to cling on to their worm when raided by the excisemen, even if it meant abandoning the still. As for cooling those vapours, some would have simply submerged the worm in the local burn. A more practical solution was a barrel full of water – or worm tub as it became known.
