Reviews:
- Jasper Morris: On the paler side among the grands crus. Fresh fruit with little showing in the way of oak. Clear cut white fruit, very promising. I do like the balance here, and the intensity. White fruit on a bed of limestone, just a lick of salt to go with. A touch of liquorice. Very impressive.
- James Suckling: This is a very intense and focused Chablis with a very composed and attractively long, supple and juicy feel that offers a wealth of wet stones and lemons on the nose with a composed, peach and grapefruit-flavored palate.
Producer Information
Domaines Albert Bichot is a leading family-owned and run négociant house and estate owner in Burgundy, formed in 1831 and now based in the town of Beaune. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties are unsurprisingly the main focus; the company also produces red wines from the Gamay grape in Beaujolais to the south. Albert Bichot, which is currently run by Albéric Bichot (who took over in 1996 and represents the sixth generation to run the wine company), owns more than 100 hectares (250 acres) of sustainably farmed vineyards divided among six estates. The majority of the Côte d'Or vineyard holdings are run organically.
