        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: T2019 Centgrafenberg Riesling GG is deep, intense and purely mineral on the nose, with notes of finely crushed stones, lemon juice, salt and Riesling expressions. Full-bodied, intense and juicy on the palate, with ripe and fine acidity, this is a promising, firmly structured and grippy-mineral grand cru from old vines on red sandstone soils. Tasted as a sample in April 2020. Drink: 2023-2034.
        • James Suckling: A super crystalline and pristine dry riesling with so much depth and finesse, the minerality giving the sharply focused palate breathtaking freshness through the string of endless lightning strikes at the finish. Only 12% alcohol! Drink or hold.

        Producer Information

Weingut Rudolf Fürst (often referred to as Fürst) is a well-regarded wine producer based in Bürgstadt, in the Franken region of southern central Germany, particularly known for its Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) wines. The modern history of the estate (which can trace its family winegrowing history back to the 17th Century) 1979 when Paul and Monica Fürst took over the family winery. Through renovation of the winery and vineyard as well as a program of gradual vineyard expansion, the Fürsts were able to revitalise and grow production. The estate now boasts 21 hectares (52 hectares) of vines, of which 60 percent is Spätburgunder. The wine portfolio is headed up by the GG (Grosses Gewächs – similar to Grand Cru) Centgrafenberg, Schlossberg and Hundsrück single-vineyard Spätburgunder labels. A number of Chardonnay, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Riesling wines are also produced (some also with Grosses Gewächs designation). The offering is rounded off with the Parzival red blend (generally based on the Zweigelt and Domina varieties).
