      Detailed Description

Ruby red with purplish reflections, Vieilles Vignes shows good potential. The intense and rich nose, with a beautiful black cherry fruitiness, is undeniable. The palate structured by measured tannins confirms the promises of the perfume.

        Producer Information

It was in 1930 that Oswald Valloton acquired his first plots of land in Combe d'Enfer. Since 1989, his grandson Henri Valloton has continued the family epic within his 7.7 hectare estate, spread between Combe d'Enfer, Planche Billon, Les Claives and Les Follaterres, emblematic places of Fully, which represent most of the vineyard. “For us, the vineyard is heroic,” underlines Henri Valloton, ardent defender of this Alpine terroir which ticks all the boxes for the production of excellent wines. Artisanal work induced by the slopes of up to 50%, broken by the landscape architecture structured in “tablards”, these traditional dry stone terraces. His eyes shine when he talks about the Combe d'Enfer where his grandfather once bought his first plot of land. This amphitheater-shaped valley retains heat in its granite soils. Henri Valloton decided to replant Durize and Païen, native grape varieties, with an emphasis on careful cultivation. The estate, certified organic in 2021, had already practiced integrated production since 1977. For Durize, it opted for traditional aging in fourth-wine oak barrels, seeking to reveal its notes of bitter almond and black cherry, as well as its wild and alpine character.
