Bull Run Distilling Co. Temperance Trader American Whiskey

This is a sourced whiskey selected by the folks at Bull Run Distillery in Portland, Ore. The mash bill is mostly corn (92% corn, 8% malted barley) and is brought down to proof with water from the Bull Run Watershed, the inspiration behind the brand’s name. The whiskey is aged in used bourbon barrels for at least 6 years before bottling.

Nose: Vanilla with hints of Bing cherry.

Palate: Vanilla sugar, caramel cream, barrel and baked fruit and spice.

Finish: Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove with a touch of Mesquite smoke and cherries.

Distillery Information

Bull Run Distilling was founded in 2010 by Lee Medoff and Patrick Bernards. The name is a reference to the Cascade Mountains where pioneer cattle broke free in the 1800s and for a time grazed and drank in a place that came to be known as Bull Run. They're founded on the principle that the sourcing ingredients have a great deal to do with the essence of the spirit, taking particular care with their distillate.
