Spicy oak aromas play nicely with core blackberry and black plum scents. On the palate, this is chewy and concentrated, with hard tannins. Generous flavors of black fruits, dried beef, herbs and chocolaty oak yield to spice and vanilla on the finish.

Producer Information

Finca Decero is a wine producer based just west of Agrelo, 30km (18 miles) south of central Mendoza, in the heart of Argentina's wine country. The estate, including its Remolinos vineyard, was established from scratch (the winery's name is derived from the Spanish "de cero" – "from zero") in 2000 by Swiss billionaire construction mogul Thomas Schmidheiny, the former chairman of Holcim cement. The first commercially released vintage was the 2006 offerring. A range of classic Mendoza Bordeaux varieties are planted including the regional flagship, Malbec, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot. Syrah and Tannat are also planted. A range of labels are produced, including the flagship Decero Amano; the varietally labeled Mini Ediciones and Signature ranges; and the Owl and the Dust-Devil blend.
