Detailed Description

This single malt was distilled at the now lost distillery of Glen Mhor in the Highland capital, Inverness, and matured for 15 years before bottling at a strength of 40% abv by renowned indie bottlers Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin. As a small, two-still distillery, Glen Mhor is not often seen as a single malt, so this rare expression is a wonderful opportunity to savour the spirit of the distillery which was demolished in 1986.

Distillery Information

Glen Mhor operated for less than a century, being founded in 1892 and closing in 1983. The distillery was located directly at the Caledonian Canal in Inverness, in the Scottish North Highlands. John Birnie and James Mackinlay of Charles Mackinlay & Co founded the distillery, both blenders from Leith.
