The nose opens up with strong aromas of rye bread and baking spices, such as cinnamon and nutmeg. There are also hints of dried fruits, particularly raisins and dates, as well as a subtle sweetness of vanilla and caramel from the oak barrel. PALATE: On the palate, the whiskey is bold and assertive, with a spicy kick of black pepper and cloves followed by notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted oak. The mouthfeel is rich and full-bodied, with a slight oiliness and a pleasant warmth from the high alcohol content.
