Holmes Cay Single Cask Barbados Port Cask

Holmes Cay was created to seek out the world's best rums and release them unadulterated and at full strength. This blend of column and pot still rum was distilled at the Foursquare Distillery in 2012, aged 8 years in ex-bourbon casks onsite in Barbados, and then a further year inside ex-port casks in New York. Holmes Cay Barbados 2012 Port Cask is bottled at cask strength, or 55% ABV. Only five casks of this premium, 9-year-old rum were produced. On the nose, plum and cherry lead. Light caramel, honey and oak on the palate yield to raisin and stone fruit with a crisp, oaky finish.

Distillery Information

Holmes Cay is an independent bottling company from New York City. Founded by New Yorker rum aficionado Eric Kaye in 2019, they focus on finding the very best rums and bottling them at cask strength. Kaye used to work as a producer and music composer for film, TV, and commercials, but has also been an avid diver for decades. His favorite pastime brought him into contact with fantastic rare Caribbean rums. He felt he needed to share these with his fellow Americans, which is how Holmes Cay came to be.
