Iba translates as "heaven" from the Zapotec language. Iba 55 Joven mezcal is made from a base of 100% espadin agave, backed in traditional earthen ovens, and distilled and bottled at 110 proof. That's the highest allowed on the market for mezcal labels. Iba Joven 55 Mezcal was named Best Mezcal in the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
IBA 55 Artesanal Mezcal Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft aroma of fine wood with tones of Pear, Wet grass, Fennel, Ketones, Oils and freshly packed raw Agave.
Palate: It gives us notes of a fine smoke, a subtle flavor of Cinnamon, Orange Oil, Chocolate and gives us an excellent retro taste.
Finish: Finish is smooth and long.
