Kavalan Selection 8YO 2014 Port Cask is a single malt whiskey from the "Selection" series from the Taiwanese King Car distillery. The whiskeys are all produced and aged in Taiwan. Limited edition and contains 191 bottles.

Nose: Very light smoke, oolong tea, brown sugar, sweet and juicy orange, light cream, a little black plum, dried fruit.

Palate: Fresh berries and blueberries, followed by sweet taste, such as orange jam, apple jam, sweet dried fruit, and finally some cream and sweet black tea as the ending.

Finish: Light aroma of black tea, sweet cream, black plum, apple sugar.

Distillery Information

In 1995 King Car tried to enter the alcohol market for the first time but their plans were rejected by the government which at the time held a monopoly on alcohol production. Following the de-monopolization of the alcohol market in 2002 King Car began work on its first distillery, Kavalan, which opened in 2005.
