Linkwood 11 Year Old 2012 North Star Spirits Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

This 11 year old single malt from Linkwood was distilled in 2012 and filled into an oloroso sherry hogshead to mature. That cask was opened by North Star Spirits, independently releasing a total of 244 bottles.

Nose: Softly sweet, with notes of strawberries and peaches, and a sprinkling of vanilla sugar.

Palate: Superbly creamy, with vanilla custard and butterscotch joined by lemon drops and toasted coconut.

Finish: Citrus oils linger alongside honeyed flapjack and toasted oak.

Distillery Information

The Linkwood distillery sits in Elgin, drawing its water from the springs of Millbuies Loch. Next to the distillery is a large and rather beautiful reservoir which plays host to a variety of local wildlife including ducks and swans, the latter can be seen gracing the label of the twelve year-old bottling. Linkwood is home to two stillhouses, Linkwood A, which is currently not in use, houses the two original stills and Linkwood B, in which a further four stills operate.
