Littlemill 1989 Silver Seal 22 Year Old Scotch Whisky

Littlemill 1989 SS is a 22 year old Single Malt whisky from Scotland. Bottled in 11.2011 at 49.8% this bottle will make a fine addition to any Scotland Single Malt whisky lover. Please note that this Silver Seal (SS) is Refill Sherry. It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered, cask strength edition of Littlemill. This is one of only 120 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.

Littlemill 1989 Silver Seal 22 Year Old Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet, marsepan, banana, grassy and floral, sherry, a bit of melon, fresh hay.

Palate: Very fresh, orange peel, grassy, woody, it descends sweetly with a bit of a punch on the tongue, touch of bitterness but not too much.

Finish: Medium length. Nice creamy and pleasant sweetness. A bit of bitter oak completes the story.

Distillery Information

Littlemill distillery was a Scottish malt whisky distillery in Bowling, West Dunbartoneshire. Situated on the border of Lowlands and Highlands, its products were generally classified as lowlands whisky.
The distillery produced three different kinds of whisky: a heavily peated variety under the name "Dumbuck", a full bodied whisky named "Dunglas" and a light traditional lowland whisky under its own name "Littlemill". Dumbuck and Dunglas were discontinued in 1972.
The distillery has been closed since 1996, all production was halted for the last time, and the equipment used in the production of Littlemill was dismantled.
