Single cask smoky Swedish single malt from Smögen! Deliciously alliterative. This peated whisky was distilled in 2012, and rested in an oloroso sherry hogshead until 2022, when Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled it up for the Nordic Casks #2 series. An outturn of 284 bottles were released at a burly 59.6% ABV.

Nose: Savoury peat, flamed citrus, a touch of smoked meats, and cigar box.
Palate: Oily, coastal smoke, but a little fruitier now, backed by toasted nuts and liquorice.
Finish: A touch of brine, orange peel, and lasting smoke.
Distillery Information
Sweden’s Smögen distillery resides on a farm near Hunnebostrand, and was named after the small island of Smögen which is also nearby. It was founded back in 2009, and has swiftly become a favourite among world whisky enthusiasts for their willingness to try out new things with their whisky right out of the gate. This includes their Sherry Project releases, the Smögen Triple and the charmingly titled Wee Swede. They are also the producers of Strane Gin.
