We've polished up a real diamond here to join our own collection of splendid bottlings. No really – this superb rum hails from Guyana's Diamond distillery! Produced in April 2008 in the distillery's famed Port Mourant wooden pot still, the only one of its kind still in operation today, this ought to be an exciting release for rum enthusiasts to sample. The rum matured for 11 years in a refill barrel, with a total of 205 bottles disgorged in June 2019.

Nose: A good dose of vegetal funk, plantain, and meaty brine is accompanied by earthen vanilla and drying oak.

Palate: Toffee and chilli flakes tangle in this light-bodied expression, with more plantain (charred this time) and tinned peaches in syrup.

Finish: Quite herbaceous towards the end, with treacle toffee and prickles of peppery heat.
