This Glendronach was distilled on May 22, 1992 and then matured for 21 years in Oloroso sherry cask #145. The bottling took place on May 27, 2013 at a cask strength of 58.1%. The edition of this bottling consisted of 598 bottles.

Nose: "Sulfur, tobacco, wet skins, very intense, wetlands, raisins, after a while fruits come out - plums, cherries, ripe cherries."

Palate: "Leather and tobacco also come out here, slightly smoky, oak, minerality, yeast dough with currants, caramel, herbal candies."

Finish: Warming, fruity bitter

Distillery Information

The GlenDronach distillery lies at the Dronach Burn in the Deveron area. The whisky distillery was founded in 1826, by a syndicate headed by James Allardes. Thanks to the fifth Duke of Gordon, distillation throughout the highlands was legalized in the early 19th century. It is said the duke encouraged the group to build GlenDronach. The distillery changed hands in 1852, to Walter Scott of Teaninich. Following his death, a group from Leith acquired the distillery.
