This 2012 single malt hails from High Coast, formerly known as Box Distillery. The two years in an ex-Islay cask bring out a little more peat reek on a long finish. This is a wonderful dram from one of Sweden’s best.

Nose: Aromas of vanilla, wood spice, coconut, and smoked heather.

Palate: The palate unfolds with notes of honeycomb and nutmeg

Finish: Long and smoky finish.

"The Swedish “High Coast Distillery” was originally founded in 2010 as “Box Destilleri AB” and is located just outside the small village Bjärtrå (approx. 350 inhabitants) on the Ångermanälven river and exactly at 63° north latitude."
