      Detailed Description

This wine shows terrific balance and harmony. Quite delicate and smooth texture on the long finish.

        Producer Information

Renamed Château Quintus when it was acquired by Domaine Clarence Dillon (of Château Haut-Brion) in 2011, Château Tertre Daugay was a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé property lying on the edge of the Saint-Emilion plateau, overlooking the Dordogne valley. The property lies two kilometers (1.2 miles) southwest of Saint-Emilion town, neighboring Château Fonplégade and one kilometer (0.6 miles) due south of Château Angelus. Such was the vista from the knoll on which the château building is now situated, that the location was used as a look-out point for centuries. This reportedly earned it the name "le terte du guet" (the look-out hill), from which Tertre Daugay was derived. Tertre Daugay lost its Grand Cru Classé status in the 2006 re-classification of Saint-Emilion. It was reinstated, however, in 2010 following legal wranglings over the wider reclassification process. It was renamed Quintus after the Clarence Dillon takeover, the name coming from château becoming the fifth property in the Dillon portolio.
