      Producer Information

Coche-Dury is a highly regarded producer based in Meursault, Burgundy. While they make some red wines from Pinot Noir, the house is famous for its highly collectible white wines made from Chardonnay. In fact, Coche-Dury's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru wine is consistently ranked among the top 100 most expensive wines available on Wine-Searcher. The Domaine was founded in 1973, following the marriage of Jean-François Coche and Odile Dury, although the Coche family has been making wine in Meursault for several generations. Now, as well as holdings in Meursault, the family have vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Volnay and in the Corton Grand Cru vineyard. In total, the Coche-Dury holdings represent just over nine hectares (22 acres), about half of which are in Meursault itself. Coche-Dury's only Grand Cru wine is the Corton-Charlemagne, but a handful of the domaine's other wines are of particular importance. Premier Cru wines from Meursault's Les Charmes and Les Perrières vineyards are among the most expensive wines from the Côte de Beaune, and the Coche-Dury Meursault is among the most sought-after. The domaine practices traditional methods of vinification. The white wines spend up to 22 months in barrel, with only a small amount of new oak typically used (except for in the very top wines). Since 2010, Jean-François has handed over the day-to-day running of the estate to his son and daughter-in-law, Raphaël and Charline.
